EPFL has decided to strongly improve the number of lectures offered in the space domain with the creation of a Minor in Space Technology of 30 ETCS (European Credit Transfer System) made out of lectures related to satellites, space science, space system engineering, Earth observation, space telecommunications, etc...

Space Courses in Europe
Several European universities offer dedicated courses related to space applications as shown below:
- The International Space University (ISU) offers three main programs: the Summer Session Program (SSP), the Master in Space Studies (MSS) and the Master in Space Management (MSM)
- The SpacE Exploration and Development Systems (SEEDS) is an International Master Course focussed on the human and robotic exploration of space and on the related systems, instrumentation and techniques. It is a joint initiative of the Politecnico di Torino in Italy, the Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et l’Espace (ISAE, Toulouse) in France and the University of Leicester in UK.
- Joint European Master in Space Science and Technology: SPACEMASTER Programme. Two-year Master programme spread out several European universities
- The International Max-Planck Research School (IMPRS) on "Physical Processes in the Solar System and Beyond" offers a first choice possibility for graduate students to obtain their PhD degree in a major scientific discipline with optimal career opportunities
